Puez-Odle Nature Park

The nature park around the Odle and Puez mountain groups in the Dolomites was founded already in 1978

Nestling in the north-west of the Dolomites, the Puez-Odle Nature Park around the Odle Group, Puez Group and Sass de Putia Massif covers an area of 10,722 hectares. The area is known for its beauty, the different rock layers and natural treasures - eagles, chamoises, deer and marmots are living here. A popular destination is the Zannes Nature Path, the first wheelchair accessible path of South Tyrol. It features 14 interesting stations.

The area was protected in 1978 and extended in 1999, in 2009 the Dolomites were declared a World Heritage site in 2009. The Puez-Odle Nature Park includes 7 municipalities in the Val Gardena, the Valle Isarco and the Val Badia: Badia, Corvara, Funes, San Martino in Badia, Ortisei, Santa Cristina and Selva Gardena.

The Nature Park Information Centre in Santa Maddalena in the Val di Funes was opened in 2009 and introduces the visitors to the local living spaces, the nature park as such, the different types of animals and plants. In summer you can take advantage of guided hikes with the nature park rangers. Enjoy the natural beauty of this park and take part in a unique experience!
