The Val Gardena valley is a place that can be experienced the whole year round
Spring
Spring in Valgardena valley is rather winterly and also the skiing area is open until Easter for those who love the sports on the slopes. The temperatures start rising slowly and the warming sun-rays are getting more and more intense. Ideal for a day on the slopes, as the days are rather mild and temperatures fall under zero degrees at night.
Summer
Hiking and other pastimes under the open sky are practised in high summer, that is to say July and August, as these are the warmest months of the year. Sun protection is particularly important if you decide to go mountaineering, as the sun is more intense on the mountains. On some days, temperatures might also reach 30 degrees C, while the evenings are rather refreshing.
Autumn
In the months of September and October, the Valgardena transforms into a golden landscape. Nevertheless this period is rather short, as already at the beginning of November snow can cover the mountain tops. In late autumn it is recommendable to plan the hikes down in the valley.
Winter
At the end of November, winter conquers the landscape and covers the valley and the mountains with snow. The sun rays are less intense and at night the temperatures fall decisively below zero. The skiing areas provide perfect conditions for a day on the slopes of the Dolomites.
