The Val Gardena funicular railway - an ideal connection from Seceda to Ciampinoi
The Val Gardena Ronda Express is the newest attraction in the marvellous winter paradise of Val Gardena. The underground funicular railway with two compartments and a switch in the middle of the route connects the ski area Col Raiser/Secëda with the ski area Sochers/Ciampinoi in the south and thus the ski circuit Sellaronda. In this way, all skiing areas of the valley are connected.
The railway covers a distance of 1.2 km and is able to transport some 2,000 people per hour with an average speed of 10 m/sec (some 36 km/h). This sums up to an overall transport time of 3 minutes. The Val Gardena Ronda Express has been on service since December 2004.
