Modern lifts, slopes for all abilities, ski legends and legendary runs like the Saslong

Dolomiti Superski, "The Legendary 8" - the most beautiful and significant slopes in Val Gardena - and the world-famous four-pass tour, the Sellaronda: These are terms that are inseparably linked with the ski season in the Val Gardena. The first ski races took place in Selva Gardena as early as the beginning of the 20th century, using solid wooden boards and long poles.

Today, the ski circuit still makes a stop on the Saslong (derived from "Saslonch", the Ladin name for Mt. Sassolungo), though now with more modern equipment. A Super-G and a downhill race are held here shortly before Christmas. Another reason for Val Gardena's fame.

You can also explore this area in the heart of the Dolomites for yourself on skis or a snowboard: In the Val Gardena Skiing Area, you will find perfectly prepared kilometres of slopes connected to the Alpe di Siusi, ski hire shops and ski schools, and a skiing tradition stretching back over 100 years.

The longest ski slope in South Tyrol, "La Longia", takes you down 1,273 metres in altitude and over more than 10 kilometres from Seceda to Ortisei, surprising you with its varied sections.
