On the famous Seceda ski slope, every year there is the longest giant slalom in the Dolomites - locking horns of a special kind, also for recreational athletes.

Every year, Val Gardena - one of the most beautiful valleys of the Dolomites - hosts the so-called Gardenissima, a fascinating event no winter enthusiast should miss! On this day, professional and amateur skiers alike will have the opportunity to show their skills.

On this day, the longest giant slalom of the Dolomites takes place on the ski runs of the Seceda Mountain. Featuring an altitude difference of 1,033 metres (start: 2,518 m, arrival: 1,485 m), a length of 6 km and a total of 88 gates, the slalom is known as one of the most spectacular and exhausting races all over the Alps.

Generous prices and several events accompany the Gardenissima while providing an oh-so special atmosphere both before and after the race. The slalom starts in the morning and already in the afternoon you can read through the ranking list displayed at the Centre Iman in S. Cristina. And it is here where lateron the awards ceremony takes place.

Last but not least there is a special challenge for all those loving skiing and cycling alike! They might consider combining the Gardenissima with the Val Gardena Star Bike, a marathon with start and arrival in S. Cristina. Featuring a distance of 42 km and an altitude difference of 1,150 m, it will take you to Monte Pana and Alpe di Siusi and right across the Saslong World Cup Run.

So, let’s head off to a unique day of skiing!
