Glockenspiel at the “Sartëur” house

The facade of the house in Selva Gardena is decorated with paintings and a glockenspiel

The Meisules district in the centre of Selva Gardena was formerly known as "Ghetun". From 1832, three houses formed the original core of the village here. One of them, the former commercial and residential building of the Senoner family, now houses a grocery shop.

Since 2002, its bay window has been adorned with a glockenspiel featuring a radio-controlled clock. Twice a day, a special sound fills the village centre: 14 precious bronze bells play a melody while four painted, wood-carved figures in a medieval style rotate in a circle.

The figures represent musicians: Three men with a violin, drum, and lute, and a woman playing the flute. On two large murals, the paintings on the exterior facade of the "Sartëur" house depict the craftsmen who once worked in the village.
