Experience winter up close in the Puez-Odle Nature Park - this easy hike from Daunëi to the Rifugio Firenze is perfect for it

This route, which is also popular for snowshoeing, can be managed with sturdy footwear and without the need for snowshoes if the path is well-trodden. Since both conditions are met today, we start from the small car park above the farms of Daunëi near Selva Gardena and follow signpost no. 3. After a gentle ascent, we reach the Juac Hut after about 40 minutes.
It is usually open in winter, so we look forward to stopping for refreshments. Path no. 3 then continues to lead us uphill. The landscape changes from snow-covered meadow clearings to wooded sections of stone pine and larch. Passing the frozen Ciaulonch Lake, we finally reach the Firenze Hut (Regensburger Hütte) in the Puez-Odle Nature Park.
Although it is closed in winter, it serves as an excellent viewpoint. We have a fine view of many Dolomite peaks, from the Sassolungo to the Sciliar, Stevia and the Odle mountains.
The descent follows the same path, ending back at the car park in Daunëi.
