Südtirol Jazzfestival Alto Adige 2009

In the framework of the jazz festival, a concerty by Yamandu Costa takes place in Selva Gardena.

Ten days of jazz music from June 26 to July 5, that’s what the “South Tyrol Jazzfestival” is all about. Swinging concerts and a great atmosphere characterise this event, which once again will enchant people all over South Tyrol.

Also Valgardena is venue for one of the concerts taking palce within the frame of the jazz festival. Under the motto “Jazz on the Mountains” the famous Brazil guitarist Yamandu Costa will give a concert at the Emilio Comici refuge in Selva on July 4, 2009 at 1 pm.

Costa was born and raised in the South of Brazil and pursued the tradition of his homecountry in a unique manner. Up to his 15th year of age folk music from Brazil, Argentinia and Uruguay was his musical background. Later on he came in contact with music of Daben Powell or Tom Jobim and this music had a great impact on his musical style.
